Fine Art and Photographic Print Best Practices
• Files should be supplied in either the Adobe RGB (1998) or the ProPhoto colour space to take full advantage of the extremely wide colour gamut of our printer.
• If you are serious about quality, colour range and smoothness of tones you should do all of the following :
- Shoot RAW camera pictures.
- Open and edit the file in Adobe RGB / ProPhoto 16 bit.
- Save the file as a 16 bit image - PSD or TIFF if possible.
Fine Art and Photographic No-no’s
• Do not used any compressed file format - eg, JPEG - at any stage of your work.
• Do not convert to CMYK as this will limited your range of useable colours.
• Do not use a colour space such as sRGB as this severely restricts your range of colours.
